Alston & Bird recently participated in the Claritas Investment Certificate pilot program, a comprehensive global education program developed and provided by the CFA Institute to provide clarity and understanding on the essentials of the financial services industry. Of the 27 Alston & Bird registrants that took the exam this spring, 100 percent passed, an “extremely impressive” rate well above the average of other participating organizations.
The Claritas pilot program was international in scope, with more than 2,700 participants representing over 50 countries. It is geared towards industry participants that work in association with the investment decision-makers, such as sales & marketing, client services, consultant relations, operations, IT, human resources, and legal and compliance, who need an understanding of the fundamentals of the financial services industry, but do not need the technical mathematical skills required of typical Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) holders (bankers, fund managers).
“Our participation distinguished us as professionals committed to better understanding the business of our financial service clients,” said Tim Selby, partner at Alston & Bird and head of its Investment Management Group. “The fact that every single firm participant received a certificate is further testament to the excellence of our attorneys and staff.”
