Sean Corcoran

• Representing institutional and non-bank lenders in loan origination, servicing transactions, and commercial real estate finance matters.
• Providing counsel for lenders in portfolio and securitized commercial mortgage loans, construction, bridge lending, mezzanine lending, loan servicing, workout and resolution of distressed debt and exercise of creditor remedies including extensions and loan modifications.
• Representing parties in connection with commercial real estate loan origination and related diligence.
• Representing parties in connection with repurchase, warehouse, and facilities secured by multiproperty portfolios.
• Representing and counseling master/special servicers in CMBS servicing matters including assumptions, equity transfers, condemnation, management transfer, modifications, collateral additions, and releases, title, and extensions.
• Representing master servicers in connection with CMBS trust termination and asset purchases.

Sean Corcoran is counsel in Alston & Bird’s Real Estate Group who represents institutional lenders and financial institutions in a broad range of loan servicing transactions and commercial real estate finance.

Before joining Alston & Bird, Sean was the managing attorney for a boutique law firm specializing in real estate, bankruptcy, and special assets. Sean’s experience also includes land use and local government issues arising from his service with the Town of Van Wyck, SC, and involvement with the incorporation of the town.

Sean received his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He received a B.A. from Western Carolina University.
