Sarah Ernst, partner in Alston & Bird’s Health Care Group, has been selected as a member of the Daily Report’s “On the Rise” class of 2016, an elite group of Georgia lawyers under the age of 40 who have achieved a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Ernst focuses her practice on public and private company securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, private equity financings and joint ventures within the health care space. She also advises clients on Securities and Exchange Commission compliance, reporting and corporate governance.
In honoring Ernst, the Daily Report highlighted her notable client work, which includes serving as outside general counsel for seven years for Atlanta-based ApolloMD, a multispecialty, physician-owned and -led practice, and representing the company in acquiring Hutcheson Medical Center in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. She has also played a key role in advising Halyard Health, Inc., which spun off from Kimberly-Clark Corp. in late 2014.
In addition to her client achievements, the Daily Report recognized Ernst for her work teaching “Doing Deals – Mergers and Acquisitions” at Emory University School of Law and her service as president of OnBoard, an organization focused on increasing the number of female directors on public and private for-profit company boards in Georgia.
The Daily Report’s annual “On the Rise” recognizes 25 outstanding attorneys age 40 and under who have made an impression on their colleagues, their clients and the larger legal community. Winners are selected by the Daily Report’s editorial staff.
