For the fifth consecutive year, Alston & Bird has been identified as one of a small number of firms that general counsel are willing to bet their reputation on and recommend to their peers.
As reported by BTI Consulting Group in its latest study — BTI Most Recommended Law Firms 2015 — Alston & Bird is one of only 25 firms that have won general counsel endorsements for the past five years in a row out of the 650 core law firms serving large and Fortune 1000 clients.
Among the report’s key takeaways: “Every year, a group of law firms figures out how to up their game, leap frog client expectations and leave the other law firms behind.”
The study’s findings highlight superior client service as the main driver of general counsel recommendations.
Indeed, more than half — 54.4 percent — of corporate counsel in the study said they made law firm recommendations based on superior client service, while only 25.1 percent said they recommended firms based on expertise, the second most common response.
The report further underscores Alston & Bird’s client service leadership and marketplace differentiation, which were highlighted in other recent BTI surveys.
In April, Alston & Bird was singled out by general counsel as one of the most highly regarded law firm brands in BTI’s Brand Elite 2015: Client Perceptions of the Best-Branded Law Firms, which found that exemplary client service is the main determinant distinguishing the competitive strength of a law firm’s brand.
And in February, seven Alston & Bird lawyers were identified by corporate counsel as the best at serving clients in BTI’s Client Service All-Stars 2015. No other firm had more attorneys named as all-stars.
Now in its 15th year of publication, the BTI Most Recommended Law Firms 2015 relied on in-depth interviews with more than 300 legal decision makers at the world’s leading organizations with more than $1 billion in revenue and spanning more than 16 industries, including financial services, energy and insurance.
